polish name[szerkesztés]
Dynaburg = Dünaburg is the same! Only the German name is in polish(?) transcription! The polish name is Dźwinów or Dźwińsk. --Texaner vita 2012. január 20., 09:02 (CET)
- In this document issued by the Commission on Standardization of Geographical Names Outside the Republic of Poland on p. 131 it is translated as Dyneburg. And it isn't actually the same name – Polish "y" and German/Hungarian "ü" are different sounds. Also note that it's spelled with "e", not "a". The name "Dyneburg" has been used for the town in Polish for centuries, including the time when it was a part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. --Gleb Borisov vita 2012. január 20., 09:30 (CET)
